Technical Application Support Chemist

Lamberti is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Technical Application Support Chemist to support laboratory operations at our East Providence, RI facility.

Role :

Technical application support chemists will be responsible for supporting sales teams and customers with Lamberti water-based and solvent-based product lines for Paint and Coatings applications.

Responsibilities :

Requires full-time availability to work in the application laboratory and to travel with sales team to customers. Provide technical support including product recommendation, formulation support and or trouble shooting for sales team and customers.

Key Activities :

laboratory testing, data analysis & reporting, technical support, collaboration, safety & compliance.

• Developing understanding of application of Lamberti products (Polyurethane dispersions, Copolymers, solvent-based Polyurethane, additives for various markets, Architectural, Industrial, Printing & Packaging, and adhesives markets.
• Develop, evaluate, and analyze application methods for various markets - blister pack coatings, Flexo and gravure printing, wood and metal, and laminating adhesives.
• Perform on-time application testing, performance evaluation, data analysis, prepare technical report.
• Maintain a safe and organized work bench and environment.

Technical Qualifications and Experience :

• Bachelor's and or associate degree in chemistry or Material Science, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience in formulating water-base and solvent-base coatings technologies and Inks.
• Hands-on experience with application testing methods for coatings and analytical techniques (FTIR, particle sizer, blister laminating,
• Experience in trouble shooting commercial printing presses.

Soft Skills :

• Effective communication skills both written and oral to interact with internal teams and customers.
• Problem-solving abilities with attention to details.
