Technical Program Manager Location:
Foster City, California (hybrid - onsite 3 days/week)
Employment Type:
6 month contract - potential to extend Role Overview This role involves working with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds in areas such as hardware engineering, software, firmware, safety, systems engineering, product, and operations. You will support the Sensor Cleaning Programs, working with the team to achieve cross-functional alignment, develop project schedules, identify milestones, mitigate risks, and clearly communicate ongoing progress. This position requires the ability to solve challenging problems across numerous cross-functional teams and deliver milestones with multiple dependencies. Key Responsibilities Work with leaders to translate corporate strategy and milestones into detailed roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure every team understands what they need to deliver and when. Serve as the primary program contact for external suppliers of sensor cleaning components, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, development milestones, and validation plans. Support and manage internal core team meetings, including agenda setting, note-taking, and tracking follow-up actions. Develop and maintain standard reports and organized documentation for concise updates on program status, risks, and accomplishments to key stakeholders. In partnership with the core team, consistently own and update the program plan, finance, and budget plans. Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and properly assessed; proactively drive issue resolution and track risk-mitigating actions. Support key decisions by working cross-functionally to develop options and make recommendations. Support the program management and operational activities as needed, including issue tracking, quarterly planning, and developing new performance metrics.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience:
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. At least 8 years of professional working experience. At least 5 years of experience in technical or engineering program management. At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in hardware product development. Proven track record of managing complex cross-functional programs from end to end. Experience with and ability to manage international suppliers; flexibility to travel internationally as needed.
Skills & Abilities:
Comfortable leading through ambiguity and enabling teams to perform in dynamic and complex environments. Ability to maintain focus on the big picture while providing clear, well-structured, and concise communications. Strong ability to context-switch between multiple topics simultaneously. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
Technical Skills:
Experience with requirements management software (e.g., Polarion) and task tracking software (e.g., JIRA) is preferred. Experience in Smartsheet, Lucidchart, and gSuite/MS Suite. Preferred Qualifications Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent. Experience with autonomous vehicles, test platforms, simulation, and automotive or aerospace processes. Experience with hardware development of electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems. Compensation The pay range for this position is between $78.64 and $88.64 per hour.
