Insulator Technician - CLEARANCE
REQUIRED PER DIEM TRAVEL JOB TO KINGS BAY GA
flights and hotel included Job Description This role supports insulation work on naval submarines at a major naval base. The Insulator Technician installs, repairs, and maintains insulation systems while following strict safety and quality standards. The position involves hands-on general labor, use of power tools, and working in confined and industrial environments on a second-shift schedule. Responsibilities Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of insulation systems on naval submarines. Perform general labor tasks to support ship repair and construction activities as directed. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete insulation and mechanical tasks. Follow detailed instructions and technical guidelines with strong attention to detail and quality. Work in and around shipboard spaces, including confined and industrial areas, as part of submarine projects. Support a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Adhere to all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete work efficiently and meet project timelines. Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as needed, including items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods during long shifts. Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality defects promptly to appropriate personnel. Essential Skills Experience working on naval ships or in a ship repair environment. in general labor, construction, or similar hands-on industrial work. Experience using hand tools and operating basic equipment safely. Ability to use power tools for installation, repair, and production tasks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physically demanding work. Ability to stand for hours at a time and work long shifts. Understanding of and adherence to safety practices in an industrial or shipyard setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as an insulator, technician, or in insulation installation is highly beneficial. ship repair, mechanical work, or construction trades is an advantage. Familiarity with working in a government contract or defense-related environment is a plus. Ability to work effectively on a second-shift schedule and overtime as required. Strong teamwork and communication skills in a production environment. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of St. Marys, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
