Competitive salary and benefits. Work in an underground project located near Superior, Arizona. About the Role We are seeking 2 Geotechnical Technicians to support the Mine Design team. In this junior role, you will start with foundational field tasks and gradually take on more complex technical duties as you progress with on-the-job training. Reporting to the Principal Engineer Underground Geotechnical your initial core responsibilities include: Utilize advanced laser scanning technology: to monitor how the mine openings change shape over time, providing critical early warnings for ground movement.
Ground Support QA/QC:
Conduct quality audits on rock bolts and surface support. You will perform Pull Tests using hydraulic equipment to verify that bolts are anchored to the required tension.Instrumentation Installation:
Install high-tech monitoring tools (such as extensometers, stress cells, or slough meters) into the rock mass to track ground movement.Data Collection & Monitoring:
Regularly "read" and download data from installed instruments and assist in uploading this information into our stability databases. Depth of Damage (DoD)Surveys:
Use specialized equipment to measure "depth of damage" holes to assess the impact of blasting on the surrounding rock.Material Sampling:
Collect and prepare shotcrete and concrete samples (cylinders/beams) from active headings. Maintain clear, organized logs of all tests and samples, ensuring the engineering team has accurate data for their daily safety assessments. About you High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Comfortable with high school level math, including basic algebra and geometry and able to preform accurate measurements and calculations - additional training will be provided. With the Resolution Copper Land Exchange now complete, the project is advancing its next phase of technical work, community engagement, and state permitting activities.
