Actuarial Analyst I (Mid-Level) USAA - United Services Automobile Association Insurance Phoenix, AZ - USA Specialist Show compensation Apply now Save position Experteer Overview As an Actuarial Analyst I at USAA, you apply advanced actuarial methods to tackle unstructured projects and support business decisions. You'll work with cross-functional teams on risk, pricing, modeling, and analytics while building strong controls and communicating insights to leadership. The role blends technical execution with guidance from senior modelers, offering growth toward an ACAS credential. Remote or hybrid options support a flexible, mission-driven environment that serves military families.

medical, dental, and vision plans 401(k) and pension life insurance parental benefits and adoption assistance paid time off and holidays paid volunteer hours Responsibilities Apply complex actuarial methods and data quality checks to support trend analysis and rate level indications Translate business problems into technical requirements and execute catastrophe modeling with guidance Develop and deliver training on actuarial tools and processes Leverage actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques to enhance work products Identify compliance gaps and propose process improvements Lead unit initiatives and contribute as a technical SME in cross-functional settings Communicate insights to diverse audiences including executives Ensure risk identification, measurement, and control per policies and procedures Key requirements Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related actuarial/analytical experience 4 years of actuarial or analytical business experience No more than 2 CAS exam away from ACAS and VEEs completed Competency with actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques for decision-making Intermediate data analysis skills and proficiency with Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or equivalent Ability to communicate complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences creative and innovative mindset ability to evolve processes and build repeatable workflows strong communication and stakeholder management Python R SQL
