Pricing & Actuarial Lead, Commercial P&C Trustystone Fullerton, CA Job Details Full-time $160,000 - $200,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Employee discount Qualifications Pricing Microsoft Excel SQL AI Python Excel data analysis Full Job Description About the Role We are seeking an experienced Pricing & Actuarial Lead to join our team onsite in Fullerton, California. This role is responsible for building the pricing framework that will support our commercial insurance products and future AI-enabled pricing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial P&C pricing or actuarial experience and be able to design rate structures, evaluate profitability, define pricing inputs, and work closely with underwriting, product, engineering, and data teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain pricing frameworks, rate structures, and rating methodologies for commercial P&C products Analyze risk characteristics, loss history, exposure data, and pricing variables to support sound rate decisions Define pricing factors, class factors, credits, debits, surcharges, and profitability thresholds Partner with the underwriting team to align pricing logic with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite Build and document pricing assumptions, methodologies, and governance standards Support profitability analysis, forecasting, and pricing performance monitoring Help prepare materials that support internal governance, regulatory review, or filing-related processes as needed Work with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate pricing methodology into system logic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance pricing, actuarial, or related analytical roles Strong knowledge of rate-making, pricing analysis, profitability analysis, and insurance data interpretation Advanced Excel skills required; SQL, Python, or analytics tool experience is a plus ACAS, FCAS, or related actuarial credentials preferred Experience with insurance pricing systems, rating engines, or actuarial models preferred Strong quantitative, analytical, and documentation skills Ability to communicate pricing methodology clearly across technical and non-technical teams Preferred Qualifications Commercial P&C pricing experience Experience supporting insurtech, automation, or AI-driven pricing initiatives Experience building pricing frameworks in a startup or early-stage environment Work Location In person (Fullerton, CA)
