Job Description

P&C Actuary - Pricing and Analytics Chicago | Hybrid or Remote Options Available A global insurance carrier is seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join its actuarial team. This role plays a key part in leading pricing and analytical initiatives, delivering actionable insights to underwriting teams, and supporting strategic decision‑making at the senior leadership level. The ideal candidate combines strong technical actuarial expertise with sound business judgment and excellent communication skills, enabling complex analyses to be translated into clear, strategic recommendations. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain actuarial pricing models Conduct profitability studies, loss cost reviews, and trend analyses to support pricing decisions and regulatory filings Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to evaluate pricing strategy, portfolio performance, and overall profitability Lead research efforts on emerging trends, cost drivers, and market dynamics Support pricing for large or complex accounts in collaboration with underwriting teams Present analytical findings to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership Perform peer reviews to ensure high quality work and promote collaboration Build and automate data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve efficiency and accuracy Lead ad hoc actuarial and cross‑functional projects as needed Qualifications 4+ years of actuarial experience, preferably within commercial or specialty lines insurance At least 5 actuarial exams completed; ACAS or FCAS preferred Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences Compensation $100-170k base plus bonus #LI-BS1 INDTJG-PS
