Job Description

Product Lead - MYGA & Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA) A fast-growing, technology-forward annuity carrier is building modern retirement solutions by combining fintech-style capabilities, deep insurance expertise, and strong partner ecosystems. This organization is known for a client-first culture and a digitally enabled service model that supports both policyholders and advisors with proactive, personalized, and compliant engagement. Role Summary The Product Lead will own end-to-end product strategy for MYGA and Fixed Indexed Annuities (including living benefit guarantees), while also serving as an interim senior relationship manager for key IMOs and distribution partners during a transition period. This is a leadership role that blends product ownership, actuarial rigor, and commercial partnership to drive competitive, compliant, and profitable annuity offerings. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Leadership Own the product vision, roadmap, and portfolio strategy for MYGA and FIA offerings Serve as the primary product decision-maker, balancing growth, competitiveness, risk, and capital efficiency Track market trends, competitor moves, and regulatory developments to inform strategy Advise executive leadership on product direction, prioritization, and tradeoffs Product Development & Pricing Oversight Lead product initiatives from concept through launch, including: Incorporating market and distribution feedback into product design Defining features, positioning, and go-to-market readiness Setting pricing strategy, governing assumptions, and running scenario testing Driving profitability analysis across statutory, GAAP, and tax perspectives Oversee pricing models and infrastructure (e.g., SLOPE, Excel, Python) to support scalable execution Ensure product designs are marketable, operationally sound, and aligned with distribution needs Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance Lead actuarial input into product filings, including memoranda, rate submissions, and regulator/auditor responses Ensure adherence to actuarial standards and key regulatory requirements (e.g., VM-22) within internal governance Collaborate with marketing, distribution, finance, risk, ALM, and IT to ensure scalable product design and launch execution Provide product and actuarial leadership for technology delivery, including requirements definition, prioritization, validation, and implementation support Support system builds tied to product setup, pricing logic, illustrations, administration, and downstream reporting Contribute to reinsurance pricing/structuring and negotiations as needed Portfolio Management & Performance Monitoring Monitor in-market performance, experience, and emerging trends against expectations Recommend pricing actions, inforce management strategies, and product adjustments as appropriate Oversee illustration governance, competitive intelligence, and inforce analytics Team Development & Influence Mentor and guide actuarial and product team members; elevate best practices and decision frameworks Set clear priorities and operating rhythms for the product organization Translate complex technical topics into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations Required Qualifications FSA (or near-FSA) with deep annuity product pricing and development experience 7+ years of actuarial experience, including leadership responsibility Strong expertise in MYGA and Fixed Indexed Annuities (including living benefit guarantees) Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and engage credibly with distribution partners Advanced experience with actuarial modeling tools (SLOPE, Excel, Python) Strong understanding of valuation, capital, and regulatory requirements Proven ability to communicate technical concepts in business-oriented language Strong judgment, ownership mindset, and executive presence
