Job Description

Summary:
The Actuary Analyst/Actuary will play a crucial role in the pricing of personal lines and Business Owners Policy (BOP) products within GuardianPointe. This position requires a professional with hands-on pricing experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry and the completion of at least two actuarial exams. The ideal candidate will focus on developing, refining, and supporting pricing and rate-making analyses to drive profitable growth and sound, risk-based decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.
Data Management :
Extract, manipulate, and clean large datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis. Build and maintain queries, databases, and automated data workflows using tools such as SQL, R, or Python. Perform data validation and exploratory analysis to surface trends, anomalies, and key drivers of loss experience.
Actuarial Analysis :
Conduct actuarial pricing analyses for personal lines and Business Owners Policy (BOP) products, including loss cost analysis, rate level indications, rate adequacy, and profitability reviews. Develop, maintain, and refine actuarially sound pricing models and rating algorithms, applying statistical, predictive-modeling, and data-mining techniques to select rating variables, estimate loss costs, and project future claims. Support the end-to-end rate change process and prepare rate filings and formal indications, ensuring rating rules, manual pages, and premium logic comply with state regulatory requirements.
Reporting and Documentation :
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. Document data sources, assumptions, and actuarial methodologies. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
