Job Description

A top-tier global insurer is seeking a Vice President, Actuary to lead valuation and financial reporting for its Health Solutions business. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Actuary, with broad ownership across valuation, financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance management, working closely with executive leadership and overseeing a high‑performing actuarial team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all quarterly valuation and financial reporting for Health Solutions Oversee actuarial models, assumptions, accruals, and earnings analysis; clearly articulate results and drivers to senior stakeholders Partner closely with Business Development, Corporate Actuarial, and ERM to ensure accurate forecasting and timely updates Serve as the primary actuarial contact for external auditors, ensuring strong documentation, governance, and efficient audit outcomes Own and enhance valuation processes, models, and controls - with a focus on automation, scalability, and transition to group systems Monitor business performance and emerging experience trends; proactively identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions Support new business activity by advising on transaction structure, accounting outcomes, and treaty language
Ideal Background:
FSA and MAAA required Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field 10+ years of health actuarial experience, with significant exposure to valuation and financial reporting Prior experience leading actuarial teams and owning outcomes at a senior level Reinsurance experience strongly preferred Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex results into clear business insights
