Requisition #: 75778 The Role at a Glance This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role with formal people leadership responsibility (one actuarial direct report). You will serve as the pricing lead and subject matter expert for our private-plan Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) portfolio and a suite of unpaid leave offerings. In this role you will drive product pricing, lead regulatory rate development and partner closely with Product, Distribution, Underwriting and senior Pricing leadership. This is an ideal opportunity for an ASA or FSA seeking increased visibility, broader influence, and a first step into formal management within a growing and rapidly evolving product line. What you'll be doing Own pricing analytics and performance monitoring for PFML and unpaid leave products, synthesizing results and communicating insights to leadership and key partners. Lead end-to-end pricing studies, including methodology development, assumption setting, regulatory rate filings, and operational implementation into rating systems. Formally supervise and develop an actuarial student focused on Leave pricing, including technical guidance, prioritization, and career development. Leverage (and guide others in) analytical tools such as Dataiku, SQL, and Tableau to build experience studies, evaluate emerging trends, and improve pricing accuracy. Partner with Underwriting on large-case pricing, providing actuarial judgment and balancing risk, competitiveness, and client objectives. Communicate pricing frameworks and positioning to Distribution, Product, and other cross-functional leaders, translating technical concepts into clear business recommendations. Identify and lead process improvements that elevate the quality, consistency, and efficiency of pricing across the Group Protection organization. What we're looking for- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major (Required)
- 5 - 7+ Years actuarial experience
Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures:
(FSA or ASA)- Group Benefits Pricing Experience (Preferred)
- Proficiency with SQL and Dataiku
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
- Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
