About the Role We're looking for a Chief Actuary who will lead all actuarial and risk management functions across our property and casualty business. This role is part of our executive leadership team and serves as the Appointed Actuary, helping guide strategy through data, insight, and sound judgment. We currently operate in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with continued growth and expansion as part of our long-term strategy. What You'll Do Lead the Actuarial Function Oversee pricing, reserving, reinsurance, catastrophe modeling, and analytics Build and develop a high-performing actuarial team Drive modernization of actuarial tools, systems, and data strategy Own Pricing & Profitability Lead pricing strategy across all products and states Oversee rate development, filings, and new market expansion Monitor industry trends and competitor positioning Serve as Appointed Actuary Lead reserve reviews and sign actuarial opinions Guide reserving philosophy and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Partner closely with Finance on reporting (Schedule P, Schedule F) Reinsurance & Risk Strategy Design and manage reinsurance programs Lead catastrophe modeling and exposure management Oversee enterprise risk modeling and capital strategy Executive Partnership Present actuarial insights to executive leadership and the Board Collaborate across Product, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Marketing Build relationships with regulators, reinsurers, and rating agencies What You Bring FCAS required Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) Qualified to serve as Appointed Actuary 10-15 years of P&C actuarial experience, including leadership roles Strong background in pricing, reserving, reinsurance, and catastrophe modeling Experience with predictive modeling, GLMs, and modern analytics tools Ability to translate complex data into clear, business-focused insights Why Allied Trust This position is not a "keep things running" type of role.
