Pricing Actuary (P&C - Personal Lines)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary to support pricing strategy and product analytics for a dynamic and evolving book of business. This individual will play a key role in scaling actuarial capabilities, developing pricing tools, and driving data‑informed decisions. You'll join a small, high‑impact pricing team with regular exposure to senior leadership and cross‑functional partners. This role is well‑suited for an actuary who enjoys applying foundational actuarial principles in innovative, forward‑looking ways within a fast‑paced environment. What You'll Do
Lead end‑to‑end analysis and execution of state‑level rate changes and new program launches
Partner closely with Underwriting and Product Management to influence decisions related to profitability and growth
Perform actuarial indications and profitability studies to assess rate adequacy and identify opportunities
Support loss cost model selection, calibration, scoring, and reporting
Build and maintain raters and rate proposals using Python
Enhance and expand the actuarial pricing toolkit and internal analytics tools
Collaborate with stakeholders across underwriting, legal, finance, risk, reinsurance, and distribution to translate analytics into actionable outcomes Required Qualifications
5+ years of actuarial pricing experience in Homeowners or related P&C personal lines
FCAS or ACAS designation
Strong grounding in actuarial and insurance concepts including loss cost trends, rate indications, modeling, and reserving
Professional experience using Python and SQL (or similar languages) for data analysis and manipulation
Experience leveraging predictive model outputs in pricing decisions
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect analysis to financial and strategic impact
Excellent communication and project management skills Preferred Qualifications
Deep homeowners pricing experience, including predictive and catastrophe modeling
Experience designing and launching new insurance programs and rating plans
Comfort working with Python packages and object‑oriented code
Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git)
