Senior Actuary (FSA) - Fixed Annuity Projections Overview A leading life and retirement insurance organization is seeking a Senior Actuary (FSA) to join its Enterprise Valuation team, focusing on fixed annuity projections. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a highly visible function supporting both individual and institutional annuity business lines, while playing a key part in evolving regulatory and economic reporting frameworks. The position follows a hybrid schedule (four days onsite) and is open across multiple office locations, with relocation support available for qualified candidates. The Role The Senior Actuary will be responsible for leading and executing actuarial projection work across fixed annuity portfolios, with accountability for analysis, outcomes, and business impact. As the industry continues to evolve-particularly with changes to reserving requirements-this role offers unique exposure across both retail and group fixed annuities. The role also supports ongoing efforts to modernize projection processes, blending traditional actuarial exercises such as asset adequacy testing and C3 Phase I with more forward‑looking initiatives around economic reporting and reinsurance structures. This is an individual contributor role that partners closely with team leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders, providing both execution and strategic support. Key Responsibilities Support the preparation and delivery of actuarial projection outputs, including asset adequacy testing, C3 Phase I scenarios, and related reporting in line with regulatory and internal requirements Lead initiatives to align and streamline projection processes across individual and group fixed annuity business lines Identify and eliminate redundancies across data, reporting, and analytical processes while improving consistency and efficiency Develop deep expertise in actuarial projection models, including pre‑ and post‑processing workflows Translate model enhancements into actionable business requirements and oversee testing, validation, and implementation Ensure appropriate controls and governance in accordance with model risk management standards Produce and review analytics supporting projection exercises, while identifying opportunities to enhance automation and reporting efficiency Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and broader business teams to provide insight and interpretation of projection results Communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders, including non‑technical audiences and senior leadership Monitor regulatory developments and product changes, supporting implementation across projection frameworks Build and enhance tools that improve model performance, analytical capabilities, and overall process efficiency Qualifications FSA designation with 6+ years of actuarial experience Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field Strong experience in asset and liability projection methodologies Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate across teams Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills High attention to detail and a proactive, inquisitive mindset Ability to translate technical results into clear, business‑focused insights, both written and verbal
