Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) to take on a critical leadership role within a large-scale Agile environment. In this position, you will serve as a servant leader and key facilitator for an Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring alignment between business strategy and execution while driving delivery of high-value solutions. You will lead Program Increment (PI) Planning, coach cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and continuously improve ART performance using Lean-Agile practices and data-driven insights. This role requires strong facilitation, coaching, and organizational skills to maintain transparency, predictability, and efficiency across the ART.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end PI Planning preparation, including backlog readiness and WSJF prioritization Facilitate PI Planning events and ART-level ceremonies (Coach Sync, PO Sync, System Demos, etc.) Track and optimize flow metrics such as Velocity, Cycle Time, and Predictability Coach Scrum Masters, Product Management, System Architects, and Business Owners Drive continuous improvement through Inspect & Adapt (I&A) and Team Health assessments Implement value stream mapping and dependency management to enhance delivery flow Promote a culture of servant leadership, collaboration, and psychological safety Coordinate across ARTs and enterprise stakeholders for aligned execution
Required Qualifications:
Active SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) 6.0 certification Scaled Agile Practice Consultant (SPC) 6.0 certification AgilityInsights Facilitator certification Strong facilitation and public speaking skills with executive presence Experience with Agile tools and flow metrics tracking Solid understanding of DevOps and continuous delivery pipelines Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC for key events and PI Planning sessions
