In the Internal Audit division, we provide senior management an objective and independent assessment of the Firm's internal control environment for risk management and governance. What you'll do in the role: Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Technical Specialist in New York, New York to Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights that inform business decisions and audit strategies. Partner with auditors, analytics leads, and business stakeholders to define objectives, gather requirements, and deliver impactful solutions. Design and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations that present data in a clear, meaningful way for diverse audiences. Develop and refine processes for data integration, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting. Interpret technical concepts and translate them into business-friendly language to support decision-making. Provide training and guidance on analytics methodologies, enabling auditors and team members to leverage data effectively. Validate data accuracy and control effectiveness to support audit ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows through automation and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality. Promote knowledge sharing and establish best practices for analytics development and usage across the team. Maintain comprehensive documentation and enforce rigorous quality control measures for all deliverables to ensure transparency, sustainability, and operational excellence. What you'll bring to the role:- Requires a Bachelor's in Information Technology, Technology Management, or a related field
- Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Manager, Analyst, Consultant, or a related role
- Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
- Designing, building, and enhancing dashboards and data visualization tools using platforms such as QlikView or Power BI;
- Writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) across various relational databases;
- Automating manual data workflows and tool refreshes using Python or similar scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce errors;
- Managing the full lifecycle of data analytics projects, from requirements gathering and design to implementation;
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver analytics solutions aligned with audit or business objectives;
- Producing comprehensive technical documentation and usage guide for team members and end-users;
- Delivering technical training on analytics tools and methodologies for the team;
- Aggregating and analyzing data from multiple sources to support reporting and analytics.
- Requires Four (4) years of experience with:
- Implementing and maintaining systems to track tool usage, generating adoption metrics, and providing actionable insights for management;
- Utilizing data analytics platforms such as Alteryx or Dataiku for data preparation, workflow automation, and advanced analytics; and
- Designing, building, and enhancing dashboards and data visualization tools using Tableau.
