Job Summary Under general supervision of the Director of Business Transformation and Project Management, the Data Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and governing enterprise data assets to ensure alignment with business strategy, operational excellence, and analytics objectives. This role ensures that enterprise data initiatives — including data lake and data warehouse development, ERP implementations, and broader application modernization efforts — are aligned with transformation goals and deliver measurable business value. The Data Product Owner serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical data teams, translating business requirements into clear data standards, structures, rules, and quality expectations. This role also leads a team of Data Analysts who support data definition, validation, and cross-functional alignment activities across enterprise data domains. Essential Functions Define and maintain data domain ownership (e.g., customer, product, finance, supply chain). Translate business requirements into data definitions, rules, enrichment logic, and acceptance criteria. Prioritize data initiatives, cleansing efforts, and enhancements based on transformation goals and business impact. Approve and validate transformed, cleansed, and enriched datasets prior to release. Establish and document business data standards, including definitions, hierarchies, and critical attributes. Identify and resolve data quality issues impacting operations, reporting, or analytics. Drive alignment across business functions on common data definitions and usage. Measure and report on data quality, adoption, and value realization metrics. Serves as the business authority for assigned data domains within the Data Governance Council. Defines and approves business data standards, critical data elements, and quality thresholds. Partners with Data Stewards[NL1] to monitor compliance and remediate issues. Escalates cross-functional data conflicts to the Director of Business Transformation or Governance Council [NL2] for resolution. Ensures regulatory, privacy, and policy requirements are reflected in domain-level rules. Lead and mentor Data Analysts supporting enterprise data initiatives. Assign and prioritize analyst work aligned to domain roadmaps and transformation goals. Ensure analysts document data definitions, mappings, and business rules consistently. Review and approve analytical outputs to ensure alignment with enterprise standards. Standardize metric definitions and calculation logic across reports and systems. Drive continuous improvement in data quality measurement and reporting practices. Foster business literacy in analytics by promoting consistent interpretation and usage of data. Education and Experience Equivalence of Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field required. Master's degree (MBA, MS in Analytics, Information Systems, or related discipline) preferred. Certifications in Data Management, Governance, Agile Product Ownership, or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP) preferred. 5-7 years of experience in data management, analytics, business systems, or enterprise transformation roles.Competencies and Skills Communication:
