Data Science Director - Analytics Operations

Description Summary Our Enterprise Data and Analytics team is growing and we are looking for a Data Science Director to build and develop our Analytics Operations team and help lead us into the next generation of banking. We are reimagining how data is used across the bank to better serve our customers, support our communities, and make our colleagues' lives better. This colleague will be responsible for the Enterprise Decision Engine, the Promotional Offer Database, and for Leads management for marketing offers. These disciplines require experts in modeling complex business problems and discovering business insights using programming, mathematical and statistical models, and visualization techniques. We are looking for a leader who has a passion for developing others, driving change, and continuously improving and evolving the application of technologies to meet today's and tomorrow's challenges. Job Description The Data Science Director for Analytics Operations will lead multiple teams responsible for the Enterprise Decision Engine, the Promotional Offer Database, and for Leads management for marketing offers. This is a dynamic and high-performing culture that embraces inclusion, teamwork, and individual accountability where colleagues are recognized for outstanding results. The Data Science Director for Analytics Operations and their team will Own the Decision Engine suite of tools and the Promotional Offer Database. Develop requirements for future software development, manage implementation projects, and track metrics over time. Develop a continuous monitoring system to catch Decision Engine and Promotional Offer Database related trends early and capitalize on them. Develop best practices and standardized procedures for Leads management. Drive the usage of Artificial Intelligence to increase team efficiency and quality. Promote sound data science practices including pipeline development, source control, and performance monitoring Collaborate with the legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure all customer communications activities satisfy regulatory requirements and company policy. Champion corporate policies and procedures. Work with management to develop and apply effective risk management processes and controls. Engage with other data scientists and analysts across the enterprise to enhance methods by continuously updating general understanding of and appreciation for their value.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's Degree in computer science, statistics, economics or related fields 12+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or similar skillset, experience working with analytics, and technical leadership and management experience on data-centric products

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on manager with a proven track record of leading and growing successful data teams PhD in computer science, statistics, economics or related fields Ability to foster an inclusive and innovative working environment within the analytics team and across businesses Demonstrated negotiation, influencing, partnership & presentation/communication skills Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into value added, data driven solutions Recognized expert in multiple data science techniques including experimental design and predictive modeling Experienced in leading teams using both structured and unstructured data sources to solve business problems Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences Financial Services background with experiences in marketing, logistics, risk assessment, and regulatory oversight Experience leading teams to conduct statistical analysis and ensure quality in their analyses Experience with leading teams using big data analysis tools and techniques Experience with ensuring quality control and risk management are built into analytics processes Expert understanding of statistical methods and skills such as Bayesian Networks Inference, linear and non-linear regression, hierarchical, mixed models/multi-level modeling Demonstrated Expertise with at least one Data Science environment (R/RStudio, Python, SAS) and at least one database architecture (SQL, NoSQL). Ability to teach others to use these tools and develop best practices. Strong experience with Cloud Machine Learning technologies (e.g., AWS Sagemaker) Strong experience with machine learning environments (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, caret) #LI-NG1 #
