POSITION

Staff Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will serve as an individual contributor to lead the design, development, and maintenance of Natera's platform components and LIMS application integrations. You will be one of the primary technical leads of the Software Engineering group, working to provide design solutions.

Primary responsibilities include:

Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and transform them into reliable and extensible services in Java Design, develop, and maintain scalable services that support the diverse activities of a high-throughput laboratory. Collaborate with the architecture team and drive the complex system design. Perform code reviews and mentor the development team with best practices. Develop comprehensive unit tests to ensure high code quality. Make key design and technical implementation on the complex system and help guide engineering vision. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. Optimize architecture and infrastructure as code on the AWS cloud platform for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability. Improve software development process and procedure and evangelize best practices

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science, physics or related quantitative field plus 5 years of software development experience, including object-oriented programming in Java, and open-source frameworks including Spring Frameworks and Hibernate; web services including REST, XML/JSON, and Oracle or other relational databases.

HOURS:

40 hours per week

SALARY:

$163,550.00- $165,000.00 per year

LOCATION

Austin, TX. The role holder is eligible to work from home but must be within 50 miles from the lab locations in Austin, TX.
