Job Description
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next. The Production Science team, within Data Science and Engineering, is responsible for developing and deploying analytics and machine learning tools and models that inform, support, and automate decision-making in the Netflix Studio. We collaborate closely with business and product partners in Content Finance, Strategy, and Production Operations teams to identify high-impact opportunities for data to enhance processes like production planning, scheduling, and budget creation. We are looking for an experienced ML Scientist to join the team. ## Responsibilities
- Own and innovate on our highly impactful Cash Forecasting capabilities to enable increasingly sophisticated and accurate insights about our production spend.
- Have end-to-end ownership of ML model development lifecycle, from feature engineering, to model training, evaluation, deployment and continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Closely work with Business and Product stakeholders to develop a roadmap that meets the needs of changing business priorities.
- Communicate complex concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
- Collaborate closely with ML Scientists and Analytics Engineers on the team to develop shared capabilities and best practices around developing and deploying data-driven applications for our Studio partners.
- Embrace and enact Netflix values in daily work and interactions. ## About You
- You have 5+ years of experience developing and deploying Machine Learning models with a successful track record of and passion for delivering business or research impact.
- You hold an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Social Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with a focus on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and predictive modeling.
- You have deep familiarity with the ML lifecycle and strong technical judgment when assessing different solutions for deploying models in production.
- You are an excellent communicator with the ability to translate business context into ML applications, and, conversely, explaining outputs of ML applications to business partners, product managers, and peers.
- You thrive in collaborative environments, and enjoy working with a diverse group of peers to solve ambiguous, impactful, problems. You are selfless in seeking the best solution for the problem at hand.
- A passion for and appreciation of the creative and entertainment industry is definitely a plus.
- Experience with forecasting models, financial data and/or familiarity with financial planning and analysis is a plus.
