East West Bank is seeking an experienced AI Engineering to help design, build, and operationalize enterprise-grade AI and Generative AI solutions across the bank. This role will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for translating emerging AI capabilities into scalable, secure, and production-ready banking applications. The position will partner closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, software engineering teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and governance functions to deliver AI-powered solutions that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, risk management, and employee productivity. This role is expected to be highly hands-on initially while helping establish and grow a small AI engineering team and foundational AI engineering capabilities across the organization. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI and Generative AI applications across banking use cases. Build scalable AI architectures including LLMs, RAG frameworks, agentic workflows, and vector databases. Develop applications using Python, FastAPI/Flask, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Azure OpenAI. Integrate AI solutions into Azure ecosystem including Azure ML, Databricks, and ADLS. Design APIs and microservices for scalable AI deployment. Establish engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and Responsible AI controls. Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence. Prototype and iterate AI solutions with business stakeholders. Implement model evaluation, prompt engineering, and human-in-the-loop frameworks. Optimize performance and scalability of AI workloads. Support hiring, mentoring, and development of AI engineering team. Stay current with emerging AI technologies and trends. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field. 8-12+ years of experience in software engineering or AI engineering. Strong Python, API development, and distributed systems experience. Experience with LLMs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Azure OpenAI, and vector databases. Strong understanding of AI architecture including prompt engineering and orchestration. Deep hands on experience with Azure cloud ecosystem. Knowledge of CI/CD, testing, and secure coding practices. Understanding of AI governance and Responsible AI principles. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in AI or related field. Banking or financial services experience. Experience with copilots, search platforms, and AI automation. Familiarity with advanced AI frameworks and orchestration tools. Experience with AI monitoring and observability. Experience mentoring teams. Relevant certifications such as Azure AI Engineer. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
