Staff Engineer - ML Required Experience 6 to 20 Years Skills Machine Learning,Al,System Design Job Description Job Overview The ML Staff Engineer leads architectural design and technical strategy across machine learning algorithms of our product offerings. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, ownership of system-level design, guidance on compliance, and leadership in advancing SaaS/PaaS transformation, algorithms, simulations, and proof-of-concept initiatives to enhance product and developer experience. Role Overview The ML Staff Engineer will be responsible for leading the architectural design and planning process for a variety of projects, ensuring that designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders and driving the strategic vision of architectural projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities Drive building POCs and production-grade GreyMatter's ML algorithms. Work with the engineering team on design and implementation of ML model pipelines, including data ingestion, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring. Collaborate closely with software, robotics, product, and operations teams to align system goals with real-world fulfillment challenges. Stay at the forefront of ML research and technology, identifying opportunities to apply new techniques to our products. Participate in strategic planning for the product vision and roadmap.
Required Qualifications Education:
M.S/Ph.D in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of total experience in academia or industry. Technical Expertise Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning Hands-on experience in building and deploying production grade ML models Experience with the full ML pipeline (data collection, model training, MLOps, deployment) Experience with cloud platforms and their ML services (e.g. Vertex AI) Ability to identify high-impact AI use cases and translate business problems into technical requirements Experience building and implementing an AI strategy and roadmap for a team/organization Strong understanding of data architecture and big data technologies (e.g., data lakes, streaming pipelines) Experience with MLOps principles and tools for continuous model delivery Department GreyMatter Engineering Mandatory Skills Machine Learning,Al,System Design Location Redwood City Experience 6 to 20 years Unit Advanced Automation Function GreyMatter Engineering Type of Employment Full Time
