This role is ideal for someone who enjoys applying machine learning to improve government systems, public services, and data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities Develop and deploy machine learning models for civic and government applications Analyze large-scale public datasets to support policy and operational decisions Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics systems Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and city departments on data initiatives Clean, preprocess, and transform structured and unstructured datasets Evaluate and optimize model performance for accuracy and fairness Create dashboards, reports, and visual tools for public-sector stakeholders Support modernization of city data infrastructure and AI adoption Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) Experience with data engineering, analytics, and statistical modeling Familiarity with cloud platforms and large-scale data systems is a plus Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work in cross-functional and public-sector environments Commitment to data ethics, transparency, and accuracy Benefits Competitive public-sector compensation package Stable government work environment Opportunities to impact public services and city innovation Professional development and training support Collaborative civic technology culture
