The Role We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will support our client teams with insights gained from analyzing data leveraging advance analytics techniques. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate has the capability to formulate data driven solutions in collaboration with stakeholders' business requirements. In the new age of AI, this role will lead the design, evaluation, and operationalization of advanced Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that responsibly augment analytical workflows, accelerate client delivery, and convert complex data into practical business action. Work You'll Do Work directly with client teams to identify opportunities for leveraging advanced analytical techniques to drive business solutions
Develop custom AI/ML models and algorithms to apply to data sets
Develop processes and tools to create and monitor data models while maintaining accuracy and other associated metrics necessary for the business objective
Lead the design, prototyping, and evaluation of Agentic AI workflows, including tool-using agents, retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration patterns, and human-in-the-loop controls
Apply and guide advanced Generative AI techniques, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, grounding, safety guardrails, and responsible AI practices, to solve complex client business problems
Leverage and mentor others in the use of AI assistive engineering tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to improve development velocity, code quality, documentation, and experimentation
Provide technical leadership in rapidly learning new domains, framing ambiguous problems, and translating AI/ML opportunities into measurable client outcomes

- 6+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Math, Engineering, advanced degree preferred
- Previous experience working with relational databases and developing advanced SQL queries is a must
- Hands-on Agentic AI experience, including leading or evaluating AI agents, multi-step AI workflows, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or workflow orchestration frameworks
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior data scientists, own and deliver outcome with thorough project management, planning and sound architectural decisions
- Advanced Generative AI experience, including prompt engineering, LLM application architecture, model evaluation, responsible AI practices, and delivery of AI-enabled solutions in business settings
- Advanced Python experience for data science, machine learning, model experimentation, automation, API integration, and production-quality analytical workflows
- Strong AI/ML background with practical depth across supervised learning, unsupervised learning, model validation, feature engineering, statistical analysis, and business-focused experimentation
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly in fast-changing AI environments, with passion for AI, curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset
- Strong problem-solving and technical leadership skills with the ability to structure ambiguous business questions, test hypotheses, and guide teams toward practical analytical recommendations
- Experience leveraging AI assistive tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to accelerate coding, analytics, documentation, testing, and solution development
- Experience working with business intelligence platforms: Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship Preferred Requirements Based in Chicago, IL, and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed
Healthcare industry experience, especially with payer, provider, clinical, claims, revenue cycle, population health, or healthcare operations data
AWS cloud experience, including familiarity with services such as Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift, or related cloud-native AI/ML services
Snowflake experience, including data modeling, SQL optimization, secure data sharing, or analytics engineering in cloud data warehouse environments
Consulting background with experience working directly with clients, managing ambiguity, and delivering executive-ready recommendations

Bike share discount program The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000.
In addition to this base salary, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is a part of a competitive, total compensation package together with our majority employer-paid benefits and incentive pay for eligible roles. Please note that this range is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors, including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
