Job Summary:
Position Overview The Cognizant AI Factory is an innovation-led unit that rapidly designs and delivers AI-powered solutions for enterprise clients. We are looking for a technically capable AI/ML associate to develop quick-turnaround Proof-of-Concept (POC) solutions that support client engagements - independently of delivery teams, using our dedicated AI environment. You will take use cases emerging from client discussions and translate them into functional, demonstrable prototypes using synthetic data and modern GenAI tooling. This role offers hands-on exposure to live enterprise client engagements across industries including Insurance, Banking, Healthcare, and Retail. Interns will have access to a dedicated AI Factory environment equipped with enterprise-grade tools and models, along with structured mentorship from experienced AI architects and solution leads. High-performing candidates may also be considered for conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business need. Key Responsibilities Build AI/ML proof-of-concept applications rapidly based on client-identified use cases Develop agentic AI workflows (single and multi-agent) using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI Integrate LLMs via APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic) to power intelligent, task-driven solutions Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases (FAISS, ChromaDB, Pinecone) where applicable Work with synthetic datasets to simulate real-world business scenarios Present POC outputs through lightweight demo interfaces or structured notebooks Maintain a shared repository of reusable POC components for the team Required Skills Strong Python programming skills Hands-on knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and API integration Experience with at least one agentic AI framework (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, etc.) Familiarity with RAG architectures and vector databases Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus Qualifications Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date of May 2026 or December 2026 or have obtained a degree within the previous 12 months. B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field A strong GitHub portfolio or project work in applied AI/ML will be given significant weightage Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment Excellent written and verbal communication Proven capabilities in teamwork and leadership A strong interest in technology and digital modernization Self-motivated, strong work ethic with a dedication to client service excellence Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team, including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary Proven Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Location and Onsite Requirements Associates will be assigned to a Cognizant office in one of the following locations: Plano, Texas Teaneck, New Jersey Associates are expected to work onsite at their assigned office location up to five days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this program. Start Date The co-op will last 12 weeks, starting in June 2026.
