SOLIDWORKS
is our set of 3D CAD design, simulation, data management, and collaboration tools. We are building next-generation AI agents that interact with CAD software to automate and optimize complex engineering workflows. You will design, develop, and deploy AI agents that can understand engineering instructions, manipulate SolidWorks models programmatically, and integrate into design pipelines. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, CAD automation, and software engineering, directly impacting how engineers design and model products. The team is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join our Waltham, MA office. Design and develop AI agents capable of interacting with SolidWorks via APIs. Build multi-step reasoning workflows where AI agents parse instructions, plan tasks, and execute CAD operations. Integrate AI agents with client-server architectures using WebSocket, REST, or other communication protocols. Implement automated generation of sketches and 3D models. Debug and optimize AI agent workflows, ensuring robust and accurate outputs. Evaluate agent performance, tune prompts, and reduce hallucinations in structured engineering tasks. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, UI/UX developers, and product teams to create and implement AI agentic workflows. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering with 2-3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 0-2 years, or a closely related technical field AI / ML Foundations - Strong understanding of: LLMs (prompting, fine-tuning, evaluation) Embeddings, vector search (RAG systems) Agent frameworks (multi-step reasoning, tool use) Experience with: LangChain or LlamaIndex OpenAI / Gemini / Claude APIs Familiarity with: Function calling / tool usage patterns Memory + planning in agents Programming Skills Python (primarily for AI) C# (application programming) TypeScript (front-end programming) Nice to have: REST + WebSocket systems. Async programming Geometry + Spatial Reasoning -

Compensation & Benefits Dassault Systemes offers an excellent salary with potential for bonus, commensurate with experience. Salary Pay Transparency Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $97700 and $139500, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
