Position Summary:
Pn Automation is seeking an Ontology Engineer to support the design and development of semantic data models, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and AI-enabled decision-support solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining structured knowledge representations that support data integration, automated reasoning, analytics, and mission-focused operational capabilities. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic data models. Develop and manage knowledge graph schemas representing entities, relationships, and operational concepts. Support entity extraction, classification, and relationship mapping activities. Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and AI specialists to integrate semantic technologies into enterprise applications. Develop metadata standards and information models supporting interoperability and data sharing. Support automated reasoning, knowledge management, and analytical capabilities. Participate in testing, demonstrations, and technical evaluations. Contribute to technical documentation and architecture artifacts. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of experience in ontology engineering, semantic technologies, data modeling, or knowledge management. Experience developing ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic data models. Experience with RDF, OWL, SPARQL, graph databases, or related semantic technologies. Experience supporting knowledge graph development and relationship modeling. Experience with Python, Java, or similar programming languages. Strong understanding of information architecture and data integration principles. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Neo4j, Cosmos DB, Amazon Neptune, or similar graph technologies. Experience with AI/ML, knowledge extraction, entity resolution, or automated reasoning solutions. Experience supporting Federal Government technology programs. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure. Familiarity with cybersecurity, operational technology, or critical infrastructure environments. Security and Eligibility Requirements U.S. Citizens with active TS Security Clearance.
Pay:
Up to $140,000.00 per year
