In this role, you will help bridge the gap between quantum algorithms and real-world quantum hardware by developing efficient, hardware-ready quantum software solutions. You'll work on implementing and optimizing quantum circuits for execution across target architectures, while building and maintaining the tools and frameworks that support circuit compilation, transpilation, and deployment. Partnering closely with research and hardware teams, you will profile and benchmark circuit performance, identify optimization opportunities, and contribute to the advancement of internal quantum software infrastructure that enables scalable and high-performance quantum computing workflows.
What You'll Work On:
Implement and optimize quantum circuits for efficient execution on target hardware architectures Develop and maintain software tools and frameworks for compiling/transpiling, and deploying quantum circuits Profile and benchmark circuit performance, identifying bottlenecks and driving improvements Work closely with research and hardware teams to translate algorithmic designs into hardware-ready implementations Contribute to the development of internal quantum software infrastructure and tooling You May Be a
Good Fit If You Have:
An MS in physics, computer science, mathematics or a related field Strong software engineering skills, with experience in scientific computing environments (Python, C++, or similar) Hands-on experience with quantum circuit design and quantum software frameworks (e.g. Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq, or equivalent) Understanding of quantum gate sets, circuit compilation, and hardware constraints Proven ability to deliver robust, maintainable code in a collaborative team environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong Candidates May Also Have:
Knowledge of quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant circuit synthesis Experience with noise modeling, error mitigation techniques, or hardware-aware compilation Familiarity with classical HPC or distributed computing as applied to quantum simulation Track record of contributions to open-source quantum software projects How We're Different At Sygaldry, curiosity and intellectual courage drive our work.
