AI Engineer (Trading Analytics & Data Engineering)

Long Term Contract Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer with a strong foundation in data engineering and experience working with trading or market data. This role involves close collaboration with traders and analysts to design and deliver AI-powered analytics solutions that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can translate ambiguous business problems into scalable solutions, and has hands-on expertise in Databricks, Spark, and modern AI/ML technologies. Key Responsibilities Design and develop AI-driven analytics solutions for trading use cases (forecasting, regression, correlation, scenario modeling). Build and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks (PySpark, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog). Perform time series and econometric analysis on large-scale market and fundamental datasets. Collaborate directly with traders and analysts to convert business needs into technical solutions. Develop and implement LLM-based solutions (prompt engineering, RAG, LangGraph, agent workflows, tool integrations). Ensure production readiness with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and governance. Maintain high standards for data quality, security, and reliability across systems. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark (PySpark), and SQL. Proven expertise in data engineering (ETL pipelines, ingestion, orchestration, performance tuning). Solid foundation in statistics, econometrics, and time series analysis. Experience building and deploying LLM/AI solutions (RAG, prompt engineering, agent frameworks like LangGraph). Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Terraform, MLflow, feature stores, and vector databases. Knowledge of data governance practices (data lineage, PII handling). Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commodity trading, energy trading, or financial trading environments. Understanding of market microstructure, supply-demand fundamentals, and risk management. Prior experience working in front-office analytics or trading desks. Work Environment Hybrid work model with close collaboration alongside trading teams. Fast-paced, iterative development culture with a focus on rapid prototyping and production scalability
