Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire a

REMOTE AI

Software Engineer (Agentic AI) . This assignment is anticipated to be a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This position is fully remote with a standard Monday-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI-driven software solutions that support and enhance enterprise operational workflows. Build AI agents using modern techniques such as prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agent orchestration frameworks, function calling, evaluation methods, and guardrails. Apply strong software engineering, DevOps, and security best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, testing strategies, and secure coding standards. Design and implement data pipelines and models that power AI solutions, partnering with data engineering teams as needed to ensure scalability, reliability, and data quality. Develop AI services and integrations using Python , SQL , and web frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI . Package and deploy AI solutions using containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes . Collaborate closely with business, product, and technical stakeholders to understand use cases and translate needs into effective AI solutions. Partner with infrastructure, security, and data teams to define technical requirements and ensure smooth system integration. Communicate project status, risks, and needs to leadership and stakeholders. Take ownership of projects end-to-end with minimal supervision. Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architectural guidance. Stay current on emerging AI technologies and contribute to the evolution of internal AI platforms and practices.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or data science, with at least 1 year focused on agent-based or LLM-driven solutions. Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks or SDKs. Familiarity with agent communication or coordination protocols. Strong experience working in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable). Proficiency in Python , API development, SQL , system design, and DevOps/AIOps practices. Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing deployed AI or software solutions. Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex, open-ended problems. Nice to
