Position Summary:
The AI Software Engineer designs, develops, integrates, and deploys enterprise-grade AI applications and automation solutions. This role builds secure and scalable systems including LLM-powered chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications, AI agents, document processing platforms, and workflow automation solutions integrated with County systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop AI applications using Python, APIs, and modern software engineering practices. Build RAG-based chatbots using vector databases and enterprise knowledge repositories. Integrate large language models such as OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini. Develop AI agents and workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath, and custom orchestration frameworks. Implement document ingestion, OCR, translation, transcription, and summarization pipelines. Create RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with ERP, Land Management, CAD/RMS, BI, and ITSM platforms. Apply secure coding practices, prompt guardrails, and audit logging. Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Copilot, and container technologies. Conduct unit testing, performance tuning, and production support. Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to deploy solutions on cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. 7+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in AI/ML. Strong proficiency in Python, FastAPI, LangChain, vector databases, and API development. Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Knowledge of DevSecOps, containerization, and secure enterprise integrations.
