Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead AI Engineer for a remote position with a Leading Risk Intelligence Firm. This is a direct hire opportunity requiring work during East Coast (EST) business hours.
Pay range: $145,000 - $150,000 annually
As a Lead AI Engineer on the AI Pipeline team, you will architect and build scalable AI systems that identify and alert customers to emerging risks in real time. This role is heavily focused on GenAI infrastructure, LLM-powered backend services, and distributed AI pipeline design rather than traditional analytics or reporting-focused data science.
You will lead the design and deployment of production-grade AI platforms thatbine structured and unstructured data, retrieval systems, orchestration frameworks, and large language models to deliver reliable, secure, and high-impact intelligence solutions. You will also provide technical leadership across AI engineering initiatives, helping define system architecture, engineering standards, and long-term platform strategy in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
Architect and build scalable AI/LLM backend systems and data pipelines for risk detection and intelligence generation
Lead production deployment and lifecycle management of LLM applications across AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, and related AI platforms
Design resilient, observable, and cost-efficient GenAI systems, including orchestration, inference routing, caching, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks
Develop and maintain RAG pipelines, vector search infrastructure, prompt orchestration, and agent-based workflows
Drive system design decisions for distributed AI services, real-time processing, and high-throughput data pipelines
Perform hands-on engineering and coding across Python-based AI services and platformponents
Establish best practices for AI engineering, MLOps, testing, deployment, monitoring, and model governance
Lead and mentor engineers and data scientists through technical guidance, code reviews, and architecture reviews
Collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions
Define technical roadmaps and platform strategy for GenAI and AI infrastructure initiatives
Integrate AI systems securely into enterprise workflows while ensuring reliability, privacy, andpliance
Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tooling to continuously improve platform capabilities
Present technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
8+ years of experience building production-grade machine learning, AI, or distributed backend systems
Strong experience designing scalable AI platforms and LLM-powered applications in production environments
Deep expertise with GenAI systems, including LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, evaluation frameworks, and inference optimization
Strong system design and software engineering background with experience building resilient distributed systems and APIs
Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience handling large-scale and real-time data processing workloads
Hands-on experience deploying and operating LLMs using AWS Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, and cloud-native AI tooling
Strong understanding of MLOps and AI platform engineering, including CI/CD, observability, model monitoring, and infrastructure automation
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with workflow orchestration and pipeline frameworks such as Airflow or similar technologies
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving,munication, and architectural decision-making skills
Commitment to secure, ethical, andpliant AI development practices
Must be a US citizen or green card holder
Desired Skills
Experience building advanced NLP and text intelligence systems, including entity extraction, event detection, summarization, and multilingual processing
Expertise in vector databases, semantic search, information retrieval, and knowledge-enhanced AI systems
Familiarity with knowledge graphs, entity resolution, and relationship modeling for intelligence applications
Experience designing AI agent frameworks and multi-step orchestration systems
Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and cost management for large-scale LLM deployments
Experience with streaming architectures, event-driven systems, and real-time AI processing pipelines
Proven leadership experience driving architecture and platform strategy in fast-paced engineering organizations
