We're looking for an AI-fluent Principal Product Designer who dramatically accelerates development velocity through exceptionally detailed design artifacts. You'll lead UX for fraud prevention interfaces where analysts make million-dollar decisions in seconds. The challenge is designing systems that enable humans and ML models to collaborate to detect fraud without compromising legitimate customer experiences.
What makes this role different:
You use AI tools to create specs so detailed and interactive that developers implement them with minimal back-and-forth. You leverage Claude artifacts, AI prototyping tools, and emerging design technologies to produce behavior-complete prototypes showing every state, edge case, and interaction. You're creating design artifacts that are clear enough for developers to move 3x faster.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accelerate development through AI-powered design artifactsUse AI tools (Claude artifacts, AI prototyping tools, Figma AI plugins) to create high-fidelity interactive prototypes showing every state, loading condition, error scenario, and edge caseGenerate comprehensive component documentation using AI - all variants, responsive behaviors, accessibility requirements, and integration patternsCreate design handoffs that answer developers' questions before they ask, reducing review cycles from days to hoursPartner with engineering to establish workflows where AI translates design decisions into developer-friendly formatsLead AI-forward design practiceIntegrate AI throughout the design workflow: research synthesis, prototyping, documentation, QA, and iterationUse AI to rapidly generate variations, test approaches, and maintain living documentation that stays currentBuild team capabilities around AI-assisted design - amplifying output without replacing judgmentStay current on emerging AI design tools and integrate the ones that improve quality and velocityDesign high-stakes fraud detection experiencesBuild interfaces for fraud analysts making real-time calls on high-value transactionsCreate data visualization surfacing patterns in noise, alert systems managing attention without fatigue, and workflows balancing ML automation with human judgmentTranslate complex ML outputs (confidence scores, feature importance, graph signals) into interfaces that analysts trustDesign for clients from mid-market fintechs to Fortune 500 enterprises, processing millions of daily transactionsLead and influenceBuild and mentor designers who embrace AI tools to amplify impact and ship higher quality work fasterPartner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leadership to align design strategy with business outcomesConduct research with fraud analysts in operations centersunderstanding workflows, pressure, and constraintsDefine metrics: analyst efficiency, false positive rates, decision accuracy, and developer velocity improvements
Skills & Qualifications:
AI fluency and technical understanding10+ years designing complex enterprise B2B software (fraud, security, fintech, data analytics, or technical domains)Active use of AI in daily design work: Claude for documentation and research synthesis, AI prototyping tools for interactive specs, Figma AI pluginsExperience using Claude artifacts or similar tools to create prototypes that communicate behavior better than static mockupsUnderstanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, component architecture) to create specs that developers can implement directlyFamiliarity with design tokens, component libraries, APIs, data structures, and loading statesDesign systems and leadershipBuilt and evolved design systems that engineering teams can implement and maintainLed design teams: hiring, mentoring, setting direction, establishing quality barsDesigned for expert users (analysts, investigators, operations teams) in enterprise environmentsShipped products used by Fortune 500 companies at scaleStrong user research discipline with technical users and continuous discovery practicesCommunication and influencePresent design strategy to executives, connecting design decisions to business metricsPartner with cross-functional teams as equals, influencing without authorityCreate clarity in ambiguity, make pragmatic trade-offs under pressure
Preferred Skills:
Experience designing ML/AI products: model explainability, confidence visualization, human-in-the-loop workflowsBackground in fraud detection, payments, cybersecurity, or risk managementTrack record using AI tools to accelerate design delivery (show us in your portfolio)Experience at high-velocity product companies shipping fast with limited resourcesUnderstanding of graph databases, network analysis, or behavioral analytics

Workplace Flexibility:
Hybrid (3 days in-office per week), Remote work flexibility will be considered for qualified candidates residing outside the Chicagoland area. Candidates must be located in the United States.
Visa Sponsorship:
Employment eligibility to work for Accertify in the U.S. is required, as Accertify will not pursue Visa sponsorship for this position.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000- $ 165,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
