AI Data Specialist - Solution Architect-CSC Consultant - Austin, TX (on-site) Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Solution Architect on our Customer Solution Center (CSC) Team in Austin, TX What you'll achieve As part of Global Presales , the Dell Customer Solution Centers are focused on providing customers with confidence that the proposed solution and architecture will satisfy their specific data, AI and service level objectives (SLOs). The AI Data Solution Architect is primarily responsible for leading Proofs‑of‑Concept (POC), Technical Briefings and Architectural Design Sessions on the Dell AI Data solutions and joint Dell + ecosystem data solutions that exceed customer expectations and accelerate sales cycles. This role requires a deep understanding of modern data platforms and AI/GenAI technologies , including both software and infrastructure, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels, including executives. You will interact with worldwide specialists and customers in all industries from Academia, Life Sciences to Manufacturing and Finance and contribute to Dell's mission to drive human progress through technology.
You will:
Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on Dell AI Data solution architectures, modern data platforms and AI/GenAI patterns for strategic customer opportunities. Lead customer workshops, technical briefings and whiteboarding sessions to understand requirements and design end‑to‑end data & AI architectures across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments. Design and validate POCs and demos that showcase Dell AI Data solutions, cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and partner technologies (e.g., NVIDIA, Elastic, Starburst) against clear success criteria and business outcomes. Guide customers on best practices for data architecture, governance, security, AI/GenAI workloads (including RAG and vector search), and cost/performance optimization. Mentor other architects and engineers in the CSC and wider presales community, contributing to reusable reference architectures, patterns and enablement content for data and AI. Here's what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements 8+ years technical understanding of storage concepts including File, Object and Block storage including proven experience managing these technologies. 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data design, data integration, data connectors, or infrastructure engineering roles. Hands-on experience working with both structured data (SQL databases, data warehouses, tabular datasets) and unstructured data (text, logs, JSON, XML, semi-structured files, blobs). Experience with Linux-based environments , shell scripting, and server administration Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Desirable Requirements Demonstrated experience with modern data connectors , such as: API-based integrations (REST/GraphQL). Database connectors (JDBC/ODBC). Streaming/queue platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, etc.).
CDC / ETL
tools (e.g., Fivetran, Informatica, Talend, etc., or equivalents). Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java ). Compensation Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The Total Target Compensation range for this position is $170,850 - $221 000, which includes base salary and commissions.
