Citizen (due to contractual/access requirements) • This role is pivotal in upholding Highmark's dedication to ethical, transparent, and secure Artificial Intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consultant will be responsible for contributing to the creation and execution of cutting-edge Responsible AI policies, standards, and strategic initiatives across the organization. This individual will act as a primary subject matter expert and strategic collaborator, working with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Audit, Compliance, Government Affairs, and Enterprise Risk, as well as external partners including academic institutions, vendors, and industry forums. The aim is to advance Highmark's thought leadership and guarantee industry-leading Responsible AI practices. This position emphasizes proactive risk mitigation, strategic partnership management, and bolstering Highmark's external standing in Responsible AI. The AI Consultant will play a crucial role in the strategic development and implementation of Highmark's Responsible AI framework. This involves crafting and operationalizing policies for new AI technologies like autonomous agents and generative AI and nurturing strategic partnerships that elevate Highmark as a leader in ethical AI. The role demands a combination of AI policy expertise, robust strategic thinking, exceptional communication abilities, and a demonstrated capacity to manage intricate cross-functional projects. This will promote compliance, mitigate risks, and enhance Highmark's external visibility in the Responsible AI field.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+Problem Identification:
Collaborate with Sr. Consultant and business partners to identify AI opportunities. Work with technical teams to explore solutions to business problems through research and applying human centered design methods. +Proof of Concept Design and Testing:
Work across teams to facilitate the design of a proof of concept and testing plan.Ensure alignment around the problem statement and the measures that would determine whether the solution is viable.
Facilitate business readiness tactics and measure effectiveness. +
Implementation and Value Creation:
Support translating proof of concept into scaled use and value creation using change management and project management best practices.Serve as an advisor and partner for change execution.
This includes, but is not limited to, working with internal and external learning and communications partners and change strategists to design and deliver interventions that mitigate adoption risk. +
Portfolio Management and Reporting:
Work with the Sr. AI Consultant and business partners to create and groom portfolios of AI opportunities.Support reporting, ongoing prioritization, and facilitating value capture tactics. + Other duties as assigned or requested.
EXPERIENCE
Required + 3 years of experience in management consulting or strategy required + 3 years of experience in Orchestrating and leading change management plans and interventions. Preferred + Experience in developing and implementing Responsible AI policies and standards within a large organization. + Demonstrated experience in fostering strategic collaborations with academic institutions, vendors, or industry forums in the AI space. + Prior involvement in managing projects related to emerging AI technologies (e.g., autonomous agents, generative AI) and integrating ethical AI clauses into vendor contracts. + Experience in thought leadership or external representation in the Responsible AI field. SKILLS + Strong understanding of AI technologies, including generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. + Ability to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for AI implementation. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop AI solutions that align with business objectives. + Experience working with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT professionals, and data scientists. + Ability to effectively communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Strong presentation skills to convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders + Experience in writing technical documentation and reports. + Ability to manage AI projects from inception to deployment, including planning, budgeting, and risk management (technology and people). + Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies.Preferred Skills:
+ Expertise in AI policy development and governance frameworks. + Demonstrated ability to translate complex ethical AI concepts into practical, actionable policies and standards. + Strong strategic thinking capabilities with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders on Responsible AI initiatives. + Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for engaging with diverse internal and external partners. + Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies specifically related to AI technologiesEDUCATION
Required + Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, data science, or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree. Preferred + Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, Law, Public Policy, or a related discipline with a focus on AI + Certifications or specialized training in AI ethics, responsible technology, or AI governance LICENSES orCERTIFICATIONS
