Purpose of the job:
The Copilot Development Specialist is a hands-on technical expert and builder within Ahlstrom's Copilot Agent Factory.
The role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, and governing practical, enterprise‑grade Copilot Agents and Azure AI-based solutions that augment daily work across businesses and functions.
The role emphasises real value creation over experimentation: building scalable, secure, and usable Copilot and agentic AI solutions that improve productivity, decision quality, and user experience, while embedding strong technical, security, and responsible AI governance practices.
Main responsibilities areas:
Copilot & Agent Solution Development
Design, build, and continuously improve task‑oriented Copilot agents and agentic AI solutions supporting end‑to‑end business processes.
Develop solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, and related Azure AI services.
Translate business requirements into agent logic, prompts, workflows, and guardrails.
Rapidly iterate from proof of concept to MVP and scaled production use.
Systems, Data & Integration
Integrate Copilot agents with enterprise systems and services (e.g. Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, document repositories, APIs, SAP where applicable).
Work closely with IT, security, and data teams to ensure correct access management, data usage, and compliance.
Support orchestration of multi‑step agent workflows (trigger → reasoning → action → output).
Quality, Risk & Governance
responsible AI principles: transparency, explainability, human‑in‑the‑loop, and accountability.
Implement prompt versioning, testing, monitoring, and continuous quality improvement.
Contribute to Copilot and AI governance practices, including documentation, auditability, and lifecycle management.
Ensure solutions align with internal AI guidelines and security policies.

Co‑create solutions with business teams to ensure relevance, adoption, and measurable impact.
Act as a technical advisor on what Copilot agents can and cannot do.
Contribute to shared standards, reusable components, playbooks, and development patterns for the Copilot Agent Factory.
Support internal capability building and knowledge sharing.

Key competencies:
Technical expertise
Hands‑on experience with LLM‑based solutions (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI; other models a plus).
Strong understanding of prompt engineering, agent patterns, tool / function calling, and multi‑step workflows.
Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems via APIs and workflows.
Basic scripting or development capability (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Power Platform expressions).
Experience in the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform) is a strong advantage.
Enterprise & delivery mindset

Required Education:
Degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. computer science, information systems, engineering) or equivalent practical experience in AI, software, or automation development.
