We combine clinical-grade whole genome sequencing, advanced AI methods for genome interpretation, and seamless digital tools for doctors and patients to order and access results. Position Overview:
MyOme is an early stage startup with seasoned entrepreneurs looking for a bioinformatician to join the team and help expand the role of genetic information in personal and family health decisions. You will collaborate with the research and engineering teams to develop and implement analytic pipelines, computational analysis, and interpretation of biological data. We are looking for an experienced bioinformatician or data scientist with a strong background in human genetics. This role will report directly to a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist.
What You'll Do:
Work with bioinformaticians and engineers to manage, process, analyze and interpret genomic data Identify and develop tools for NGS data analysis Develop and test algorithms for incorporation into a production pipeline Design and implement quality control processes Help design and conduct clinical validation study plans and reports Work with our Clinical Lab Director to make sure all algorithms comply with regulatory standards What You'll Ne ed: Master's degree (PhD preferred) in computational biology, computer science or a related field 3+ years experience in industry analyzing NGS data Coding fluency such as Python or R Experience with bioinformatics tools including bcftools, samtools, bedtools, etc. Ability to implement new tools and evaluate open source tools quickly Familiarity with genomic databases such as
UCSC, NCBI
(dbSNP, Clinvar), Ensembl Familiarity with public datasets such as 1000 Genomes, UKB, All of Us Experience with detecting and interpreting different types of genetic variants Experience in statistical analysis of genetic data Experience managing computational tasks in a cloud environment (AWS or GCP). Solid understanding of the Linux environment and shell scripting Experience working with next-generation sequencing data (exome, genome, RNASeq) and/or long-read technology (Nanopore, PacBio) Experience with Nextflow is a plus Excellent communication and presentation skills Experience working within a hybrid and/or remote team

Hybrid role, 2 days onsite at our Menlo Park, CA campus.
Compensation:
Annual salary range is $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience San Francisco Bay Area pay range $120,000 - $150,000
