Job Description

Position Overview Herdt Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP SME - Finance/FM to support Navy financial management transformation initiatives within an
SAP S/4HANA
Defense & Security (D&S) environment. This role will focus on translating Navy FM business requirements into scalable SAP financial configurations while ensuring compliance, auditability, and operational integrity across integrated logistics and financial processes. Key Responsibilities Translate Navy Financial Management (FM) business requirements into
SAP S/4HANA D&S
functional solutions Support configuration and integration activities across SAP Finance and Funds Management processes Ensure financial controls and compliance requirements are incorporated into system design and configuration Collaborate with functional, technical, and business stakeholders to support end-to-end process alignment Assist with system testing, issue resolution, and validation of SAP financial processes Support audit readiness, data integrity, and operational reporting requirements Participate in requirements gathering sessions, process reviews, and solution discussions Provide SME support for Navy financial and logistics integration activities Qualifications Experience supporting SAP Finance and/or Funds Management initiatives Experience with
SAP S/4HANA
environments Understanding of financial controls, compliance, and auditability requirements Ability to work collaboratively within a government-focused SAP delivery environment Experience supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense SAP programs Familiarity with SAP Defense & Security (D&S) capabilities Experience integrating financial and logistics business processes within SAP ERP environment
