The incumbent partners with campus stakeholders to analyze business processes, define system requirements, and ensure that HR technology solutions effectively support institutional goals. The position supports configuration, data integrity, and ongoing maintenance across core ERP functions. The Business Systems Analyst serves as a techno-functional expert for UCSF's enterprise Oracle Cloud ERP platform, as well as other administrative systems supported by IT. The role acts as a key liaison between business users, IT technical teams, and Oracle support, ensuring that system configurations, integrations, and enhancements align with UCSF's operational goals, compliance standards, and financial policies. This position requires not only technical and functional ERP expertise but also strong institutional knowledge of UCSF business processes, operational structures, and policy frameworks. The analyst plays a critical role in designing, configuring, testing, and maintaining Oracle Cloud ERP solutions that support efficient, compliant, and scalable business operations across the university. Acting as the primary liaison between UCSF HR functional users, IT technical teams, and Oracle Support, the analyst ensures that Oracle Cloud HCM configurations, integrations, and enhancements are aligned with UCSF's business processes, policy frameworks, and institutional objectives. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of UCSF's HR processes, payroll structures, academic personnel policies, and compliance requirements, combined with strong technical and analytical skills to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-focused HCM solutions. Success in this role requires hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud configuration, data validation, regression testing, and issue triage, as well as proficiency in tools such as
OTBI, BI
Publisher, BI Cloud Connect, and HCM Extracts. Experience supporting one or more Oracle Cloud HCM modules such as Core HR, Recruiting, Talent Management, Compensation, Absence Management, or HR Help Desk is essential. This position includes regular onsite work, typically 1-3 days per month. The exact schedule and frequency may be adjusted as needed to meet departmental and operational demands. Department Overview The mission of the UCSF Information Technology (UCSF IT) organization is to deliver full IT services and related systems for faculty, staff, and students, the UCSF Foundation, all University departments, and any outside entities who have a business relationship with the University. The Information Technology Enterprise Applications team supports enterprise-wide business applications, including but not limited to PeopleSoft Financials, UCPath HCM, Allscripts procurement and payables, and other financial, supply chain, and human capital management systems. We ensure the day-to-day operation of these systems as well as the implementation of new enhancements due to organizational need.
