Description :
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst (BA) to support IT project initiation efforts, technology procurements, and business systems analysis activities. The primary responsibility of this role will be analyzing IT project initiation requests and compiling documentation necessary to support new IT procurements, contracts, or in-house system development initiatives. As workload permits, the Business Analyst may also be assigned to active IT project teams. The Business Analyst will work closely under the guidance of the IT BA Manager, and successfully collaborate with business stakeholders, relevant IT teams, to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements. This role requires strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and analytical skills to ensure successful project initiation, procurement support, and solution delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience facilitating workshops, conducting interviews, documenting current and future state processes, defining functional and non-functional requirements, and supporting software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities. Required Skills & Qualifications 5 + Years, Experience working as an IT Business Analyst supporting IT projects, system implementations, or technology procurements. 5 + Years, Strong understanding of business/data process analysis methodologies and SDLC processes. 5 + Years, Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and JAD sessions. 5 + Years, Ability to gather, document, and manage complex business, data, and functional requirements. 5 + Years, Experience developing process flows, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications. 5 + Years, Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. 5 + Years, Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders. 5 + Years, Experience supporting procurement documentation, vendor coordination, or contract-related activities is preferred. 5 + Years, Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies is preferred. 5 + Years, Documenting

Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting government or public-sector IT initiatives. Experience with procurement lifecycle documentation and vendor management. Familiarity with workflow automation, business process improvement, and enterprise applications. Experience using tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Visio, SharePoint, Balsamiq, or similar platforms. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment Education Qualifications • Minimum, bachelor s degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology Systems) Required. • Active IT Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certification Preferred.
