Our advanced nuclear client is seeking to add a Contract Administrator to the team! The Project Controls BI Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing business intelligence reporting solutions that support Project Controls, PMO, Engineering, and Program Management teams. This role serves as the technical reporting expert for project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, estimating, and performance analytics across complex programs and projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in Power BI, Power Query, and advanced Excel with an understanding of project controls and scheduling data. This role focuses heavily on transforming data from multiple disconnected systems into meaningful dashboards, reports, and actionable insights that support program and project leadership decision-making. This position is highly data-centric and operates as a backend analytics and reporting function supporting enterprise project execution. Key Responsibilities Business Intelligence & Reporting 1. Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI. 2. Build reporting models and visualizations that support project planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost management, estimating, and performance tracking. 3. Create executive-level dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting for program and project leadership. 4. Translate complex project controls data into actionable insights and meaningful analytics. Data Transformation & Integration Utilize Power Query extensively to collect, clean, transform, validate, and consolidate data from multiple sources. Integrate and normalize large datasets from scheduling systems, cost tools, spreadsheets, flat files, and other disconnected data sources. Support data governance, data quality validation, and reporting accuracy initiatives. Partner with IT and business stakeholders to improve reporting architecture and data accessibility. Project Controls & Scheduling Support 1. Support Project Controls and PMO teams with reporting related to schedules, cost performance, forecasting, estimating, trends, and resource planning. 2. Work with scheduling data from tools such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. 3. Develop reporting structures and analytics that support project performance monitoring and decision-making. 4. Assist in identifying trends, risks, variances, and performance issues through data analysis. Advanced Excel & Data Validation 1. Perform advanced data validation and reconciliation using Excel. 2. Develop complex formulas, logic checks, and data quality controls to ensure reporting accuracy. 3. Analyze large datasets and troubleshoot inconsistencies across multiple reporting systems. 4. VBA or automation experience is beneficial but not required. Continuous Improvement & Innovation 1. Support reporting automation and process improvement initiatives. 2. Contribute to scalable BI and data warehouse strategies. 3. Collaborate on cloud-based data platform initiatives, including Snowflake or similar technologies. 4. Explore and incorporate AI-enabled analytics and business intelligence capabilities where applicable. Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. 2. 5+ years of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Reporting Analyst experience supporting Project Management, PMO, or Project Controls organizations. 3. Advanced experience with Power BI, Power Query, Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis, validation) 4. Strong experience transforming and analyzing large datasets from multiple sources. 5. Experience working with project scheduling and/or project controls data. 6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 7. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities. 8. Must qualify as a U.S. Person. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience supporting engineering, construction, infrastructure, energy, aerospace, or other technical project-based industries. 2. Experience working with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project scheduling data. 3. Familiarity with project controls concepts, including Scheduling, Cost tracking, Forecasting, Earned value management, Estimating 4. Experience with enterprise-scale datasets and data warehouse environments involving millions of rows. 5. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake. 6. Exposure to AI-enabled analytics or AI-assisted business intelligence tools. 7. Experience working in organizations without fully integrated ERP systems. 8. VBA, SQL, or other data automation experience is a plus. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a highly technical BI Analyst who understands how project teams use schedule, cost, and forecasting data to manage large-scale programs. They are comfortable working behind the scenes with messy, disconnected datasets and building reliable reporting solutions that enable leadership visibility and decision-making. This individual thrives in fast-moving environments, can pivot quickly as priorities evolve, and enjoys solving complex data and reporting challenges.
