Job Description

Overview:
Love From USA is seeking a Software Engineering / AI Intern to provide part-time, in-office coverage over the summer. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in data analytics and software development, hands-on experience with CounterPoint and Sage software, and a genuine interest in applying AI tools to real-world retail and supply chain challenges.

With 24 stores (and growing) in high profile venues across the U.S., we have a passion for inspiring our customers and connecting them with the perfect gift. Love From USA is a specialty retailer operating in venues in Orlando, Denver + Chicago's airports along with highly trafficked locations like Mall of America and Chicago's Navy Pier. Responsibilities As a key member of the Operations and Technology team, this individual will: Lead data analytics efforts, including analysis of CounterPoint reports, sales trends, airport-driven metrics, and concept/industry-specific KPIs Develop and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to track inventory, sales, and logistics performance Analyze supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements Assist in building predictive models for demand forecasting and inventory optimization, leveraging AI tools including Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) to accelerate analysis and automate insights Support and extend reporting workflows within Sage (ERP/accounting) and Counterpoint (retail point-of-sale and inventory management), including data extraction, reconciliation, and integration tasks Automate manual reporting processes using scripting or data tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, IT) to gather requirements and deliver solutions Support integration of AI/ML tools into existing reporting workflows Assist with Microsoft 365 administration tasks, including user provisioning, license management, and troubleshooting across the M365 suite Support Microsoft Entra (Azure Active Directory) and on-premises Active Directory administration, including user and group management, access controls, and identity governance Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java Familiarity with data analysis, visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), or libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) Basic understanding of machine learning concepts is a plus Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team environment Preferred Skills Experience working with large datasets or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Exposure to supply chain, logistics, or retail analytics Familiarity with Sage ERP or Counterpoint POS/inventory systems Experience or coursework related to AI tools such as Claude or similar large language model platforms Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID, or Active Directory (user management, group policies, permissions) Interest in applying AI to business operations and enterprise systems What You'll Gain Hands-on experience solving real-world supply chain challenges in a high-volume retail environment Exposure to airport retail operations and logistics Practical experience with enterprise platforms including Sage, Counterpoint, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, and Claude AI Mentorship from experienced professionals in technology and operations Opportunity to contribute to impactful, data-driven decision-making systems How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief statement of interest highlighting relevant coursework, projects, or experience in coding, data analysis, AI, or enterprise systems administration.
