Manufacturing Digital Solution Analyst Role Definition:
This role blends strong business analysis expertise with modern digital manufacturing skills, using Power BI, data modeling, and AI‑driven insights to improve factory performance business initiatives. The ideal candidate can translate operational needs into clear technical requirements, build scalable analytics and applications, and integrate data from MES, ERP, and shop‑floor systems. Success requires the ability to turn complex data into actionable intelligence, drive adoption of digital tools, and partner effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
What You Will Do:
Partner with factory and business leaders to translate operational and business needs into clear functional and technical requirements. Analyze, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements to ensure traceability, data quality, and alignment to business outcomes. Design, prototype, test, and support analytics and application solutions that improve factory performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Develop and support factory intelligence solutions using data from manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP, quality, maintenance, inventory, and equipment signals. Identify opportunities to standardize metrics, data models, and reporting across plants to reduce duplication and improve reuse. Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and IT teams to ensure scalable, dependable, and performant solutions. Translate complex operational and system data into actionable insights for real-time and near real-time decision-making. Drive adoption by embedding analytics, insights, and applications into existing operational workflows and factory management systems. Support application lifecycle activities, including implementation, testing, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing operational support. Influence cross-functional stakeholders, build alignment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and guide junior analysts or developers by contributing to standards, documentation, and best practices.
What You Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Management, Computer Science, or related discipline. Experience in business analysis, application support, or analytics within manufacturing, industrial, or operations-focused environments. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, shop floor processes, and operational KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost). Demonstrated ability to capture, analyze, and document business and functional requirements in an organized and auditable manner. Experience working with core application systems, data platforms, or production systems that support business operations. Analytical and critical thinking skills, including root-cause analysis and evaluation of risks, benefits, and alternatives. Ability to work effectively with business partners, IT teams, and stakeholders in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences. Familiarity with IT environments, standards, policies, and system integration concept.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Experience supporting or delivering analytics, BI, or digital manufacturing solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms. Working knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and end-to-end data lifecycle concepts (ingestion, transformation, consumption). Experience integrating data from multiple enterprises and manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, quality, maintenance, IoT/equipment data) Ability to embed solutions into operational workflows to ensure sustained adoption and measurable impact. Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across business and IT. Experience working in multi-plant, scaled, or global manufacturing environments. Exposure to automation, low-code/no-code platforms, or AI/ML-enabled use cases that improve operational efficiency. Balance of strategic thinking and direct execution, contributing to both roadmap development and day-to-day delivery.

Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
System and Technology Integration:
Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00
  • $169,060.
00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
