Job Description

OVERVIEW
Responsible for conducting strategic and ad hoc analyses / report development across the Wealth Management Division to answer critical business questions and provide Wealth Management leadership insight into their businesses. This senior analyst role should be able to work as part of a team as well as independently with their business partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and direct a variety of fact-based analyses that aid Senior Management in making decisions related to their businesses. Leverage business knowledge to not only provide insight to our partners but ask focused questions and provide credible challenge to produce the most meaningful reports and analyses. Develop creative approaches and methodologies to answer critical business questions, evaluate new product and service opportunities and assess market potential. Provide actionable and insightful recommendations from data mining, segmentation, customer profiling, and quantitative analyses with the goals of identifying acquisition, cross-sell, and retention opportunities. Collaborate with partners across the Wealth Management division to provide data driven insight and reporting to all levels of Wealth Management Leadership, Leadership Committees and Boards. Interpret results of analyses, translate insights into actionable recommendations, present the insights and recommendations to senior management and work closely with business partners to integrate and operationalize the recommendations in the business strategies, plans, and tactics. Leverage expert business intelligence (BI) and analytic platform skills (e.g. SQL, SAS, Python, Tableau Prep, Tableau) on one or more platforms to incorporate advanced calculations, develop more advanced data flows and assemble complex consolidated dashboards/reports/analyses for presentations. Use knowledge of programming languages to query, structure, and model data, as needed, for use in dashboards/reports and analyses. Mentor less experienced team members in the use of dashboard/report templates, data visualization best practices and facilitate learning opportunities. Participate in gathering visualization requirements from business stakeholders. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Complete other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years related experience Tactical experience with a minimum of one data visualization tool Experience designing and developing advanced dashboards/reports and data visualizations Experience incorporating data storytelling into visualizations Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) or similar data language to analyze, extract, and transform data
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Tactical experience with multiple data visualization tools and or analytic programming languages. Significant experience in, and/or knowledge of, the Wealth Management business. Strong communications skills with ability to translate highly technical concepts to less technical partners and leaders. Prior experience or educational background in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, or data science, such as regression analysis and modeling. The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
