Client:
State of California Contractor will perform most of the work offsite. However, contractor may be asked to work onsite, at the CalPERS Lincoln Plaza campus, to align with staff s hybrid working model.
Project Description:
The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS)
OPT/ITSB
is engaging in services with the company to provide a subject-matter expert (SME) to provide technical support for our ERP Oracle PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) application and its supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities include implementing new integrations, developing additional features and functionality, and applying system patches to maintain system performance and stability. Our ERP platform was recently upgraded, and we require an experienced SME who can align business requirements with Oracle support releases and technical updates. This role will help ensure the system remains secure, reliable, and responsive to the evolving needs of the organization while maintaining compatibility with vendor-supported technologies and best practices. Project Scope/Tasks The consultant s primary responsibilities will include: The consultant will ensure that all work performed under this agreement will comply with CalPERS Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. The consultant is to submit to the contract manager a written weekly status report as part of this agreement and provide knowledge transfer to staff before the end of the contract.
Providing technical leadership and guidance:
As a crucial member of a blended team comprising state staff, the consultant will be tasked with providing both overarching leadership and specific technical expertise. Their role will involve guiding, mentoring, and leading the combined team in all technical aspects related to the FSCM upgrade. Use a collaborative approach to ensure that our team aligns with best practices, effectively navigates challenges, and adheres to the highest standards set by CalPERS.
Collaborate with implementation partners:
The consultant will liaise and work with the selected implementation partners. In tandem with them, the consultant s role includes, ensuring that their work aligns with CalPERS standards, goals, and requirements, and validating the quality and correctness of their tasks. Analyzing the
Current PeopleSoft Setup:
Thoroughly assess CalPERS s existing setup to pinpoint potential challenges and plan for a smooth upgrade. Assist in feature and functionality analysis: Aid in defining, directing, and validating the upgrade tasks and processes. Provide Training and Knowledge Transfer to
State Staff:
Educate CalPERS s state team on Oracle PeopleSoft On-prem functionalities, ensuring they are equipped to manage and use the updated platform effectively. This includes hands-on training and documentation, enabling CalPERS staff to become self-reliant and knowledgeable.
Provide Post-Migration Support:
Offer guidance and troubleshooting support postmigration to ensure system stability, efficiency, and user adaptability.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of ten years of experience as an Oracle PeopleSoft developer and provide legacy support. Must have demonstrated experience with Oracle PeopleSoft FSCM on premises upgrades. Must have ten years working with Oracle databases, specifically integrating with FSCM. Must have a minimum of five years providing technical expertise in consolidation and migration of data to new cloud-based platforms. Must have a minimum of five years of experience with Oracle ERPS application on Windows Server Infrastructure.
