Director of Operations Job Overview The Production Control is responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and optimization of ERP/MRP data that drives production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing execution. This role acts as a key owner of system reliability, ensuring that production plans, material requirements, and operational data are accurate, timely, and aligned with real-world conditions to support efficient and predictable manufacturing performance. Key Functions, Duties and Responsibilities ERP Data Accuracy & Governance (Primary Focus) Own and maintain ERP/MRP system accuracy, including BOMs, routings, lead times, and production order data. Audit and validate system data regularly to identify discrepancies between ERP records and shop floor execution. Ensure all work orders are released, updated, and closed accurately to support real-time reporting and inventory integrity. Partner with engineering and operations to ensure ECO changes are reflected accurately and timely in ERP. Establish and enforce standards for data entry, transaction timing, and system usage to reduce errors and rework. ERP Optimization & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve ERP system utilization to better support scheduling, planning, and inventory control. Analyze ERP-generated data (capacity, utilization, WIP, shortages) to identify inefficiencies and recommend system or process improvements. Lead or support ERP process enhancements, including workflow improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting optimization. Collaborate with leadership on ERP configuration improvements to align system outputs with operational objectives. Production Planning & System Alignment Develop and maintain production schedules using ERP/MRP outputs, ensuring alignment between system planning and shop floor execution. Monitor system signals (shortages, delays, capacity constraints) and proactively resolve issues to maintain schedule accuracy. Ensure material planning in ERP reflects actual consumption, demand changes, and supply timing. Inventory & Transaction Integrity Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives by ensuring all ERP transactions (issues, receipts, adjustments) are completed correctly and timely. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by tracing system transactions and process breakdowns. Work with warehouse and production teams to improve transaction discipline and reduce manual corrections. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary liaison between production, purchasing, engineering, and accounting for ERP-related issues. Train and support team members on proper ERP usage, data entry standards, and best practices. Provide clear reporting and insights derived from ERP data to support decision-making. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO27001, OSHA and other industry standards. Executing assigned objectives and goals. Accept other responsibilities and duties as needed. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Inventory accuracy: ≥ 97-99% Work order closure accuracy/timeliness: ≥ 95% within defined window Schedule adherence (ERP vs. actual): ≥ 90-95% Qualifications Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (data management, transactions, reporting). Demonstrated experience improving data accuracy, system reliability, or ERP-driven processes. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills. High attention to detail with a strong focus on data integrity and process discipline. Experience in manufacturing operations, production control, or supply chain. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading ERP optimization, implementation, or system improvement projects. Familiarity with data governance, master data management, or system audits. Knowledge of cost impact related to inaccurate ERP data (inventory, labor, overhead). Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
