Business Intelligence Developer Hiro Talent Solution Saint Paul, MN Job Details Permanent | Full-time $30 - $70 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Performance dashboard reports Data integrity assurance Dashboard development Performance tuning Data visualization software proficiency Data Integration (Data management) Data analysis reporting Computer Science SQL databases Cloud data warehouses Data validation techniques Business intelligence report generation Dashboard creation support Trend analysis SQL ETL process automation Outlier detection Bachelor's degree Data integrity process (data warehousing) Query execution time improvement Technical writing Data analytics technologies Information Technology Full Job Description Job Requirements Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions using Power BI and Domo to support operational, strategic, and executive decision-making Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries against SQL Server and Snowflake databases to extract, transform, and aggregate data for reporting and analytical purposes Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines and dataflows to integrate data from multiple sources into a cohesive reporting layer Perform thorough data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all reporting outputs before delivery to stakeholders Identify and implement opportunities to use agentic AI assistants for automated data quality checks, anomaly detection, trend analysis, and natural language report generation Document reporting processes, data sources, data lineage, transformation logic, and business rules for future reference and knowledge sharing Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity Organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work independently toward project-driven deadlines, in person or remote Desired Technical Skills 3-5 years of hands-on experience building dashboards, reports, and data models in a professional setting including writing complex SQL queries, with strong proficiency in joins, subqueries, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures, and query performance tuning Experience with Domo, including building dataflows, creating Beast Mode calculations, designing cards and dashboards, managing connectors, and scheduling data refreshes Solid experience querying and managing data from Microsoft SQL Server, including proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and familiarity with SSIS or similar ETL tools Experience working with Snowflake cloud data platform, including writing performant queries, understanding Snowflake architecture, and working with Snow SQL or the Snowflake web interface Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and slowly changing dimensions Exposure to additional BI platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or Qlik is a strong plus Experience leveraging AI-powered analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI Copilot, AI-assisted query generation, natural language BI interfaces) to improve productivity and reporting quality Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline architecture Education and Experience Four-year college degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience) 3-5 years of experience in a BI development, reporting, or business intelligence role with hands-on dashboard and data model building responsibilities Demonstrated experience integrating AI-powered analytics and development tools into daily reporting and data analysis workflows
