Director, Architecture Duties :

Create system architecture design specifications to outline objectives and organizational impact on scheduled reports and maintenance. Perform system security analyses to ensure proper handling of customer information. Manage Power Query and SQL/DAX queries to completely understand underlying models and to adhere to company standard. Develop and install operating systems to provide concise SLM resources and dataflow management. Develop functional standards to address operational requirements, quality requirements and design constraints. Research, test, and verify proper functioning of system patches and fixes. Verify stability of data systems and ensure the compatibility of system components. Develop and implement an efficient process for intake and tracking of emerging BI technology requests. Confer with IT leadership to ensure functionality and deployment of information technology to proper departments. Encourage BI users to improve skills and make them aware of SLM training and requirements. Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of Sterling, VA.

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

REQUIREMENTS:

at least a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, or closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Database Analyst, or closely related occupation where required experience gained. Also requires at least 5 years of experience in the following:

• Data Tools Administration, Data Visualization tools, and BI reporting;
• SQL, DAX, PowerQuery, Snowflake, Oracle, Visual Studio, and ADO;
• Understanding business user needs and design Data models to make use of raw data that helps drive data insights;
• Connect data tools with multiple data sources like Excel, CSV, Oracle, Snowflake, Adobe Analytics, or Salesforce to combine and analyze data;
• Derive technical specifications from business requirements;
• Use current and historical data to build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI;
• Improvise BI systems to transition and balance usage of data consumption; and
• Analyze existing data connections and identify opportunities for improvements in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and governance.
