Job Description

Salary Information Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n•A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations•\r\n Nature of Work The reason the position exists is to manage the\r\nCity of Montgomery's IT internet exchange function.� The work responsibilities include: managing a\r\ndepartmental sub-function within the Information Technology Department;\r\ndirecting and optimizing operations of a Montgomery Internet Exchange (MGMix)\r\nfacility; designing operating procedures and policies for installing,\r\nconfiguring, and maintaining servers, routers, switches, and storage systems\r\nwithin the MGMix; monitoring the MGMix overall status and health; reporting\r\nissues to the Data Center management; providing technical infrastructure\r\nservice and presentation to internal and external clients; and coordinating\r\nwith the Chief of Technology Officer (CTO). This position reports to the Chief\r\nTechnology Officer.\r\n Minimum Qualifications Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer information\r\nsystems or information technology and five (5) years of networking, routing,\r\ninfrastructure management, network management, vendor management, and an\r\nextensive understanding of internet traffic and BGP routing.\r\n\r\n\r\n
