One software runtime. Any silicon. Fail-safe under radiation. Pre-seed, Menlo Park. Three pilots in conversation. Looking for a CTO who has: → Deep systems engineering chops — kernel-level, embedded, or runtime work where milliseconds and memory layout matter → Real ML/AI background — not LLM wrappers, but the kind of work where you've shipped inference at the edge under hard constraints → Space or aerospace experience — even adjacent (avionics, defense, robotics, autonomous systems) — you know what "flight-grade" actually means → Strong public credibility in the field — published work, conference talks, open-source presence, named contributions, or a track record visible enough that the people in your space already know who you are → Top technical pedigree — Stanford, MIT, CMU, ETH, or equivalent. You've worked at JPL, SpaceX, NVIDIA, Anduril, Palantir, or somewhere that ships hard things → Bay Area-based, willing to be in Menlo Park in person — this role is hands-on with both founders daily, not remote-first → Genuinely good to work with — we move fast, we disagree productively, and we don't have time for ego. Strong opinions, loosely held. Funny at lunch. Knows how to be wrong without making it weird.
